There are multiple reasons. Most commonly, this is due to a lack of understanding of our settlement timelines or because you had a negative balance. Below, we go more into depth on the most common reasons and what you can do:
-
A settlement is only generated when you have a positive balance. If there is a negative balance with one of our banking partners, then the settlement won’t be generated.
-
The most common reason for having a negative balance is due to a refund. Since Affirm doesn't debit the merchant's bank account on file for the negative balances created by refunds, these negative balances are net-settled against future loans. Once new loans have offset the previous negative balance, settlements will be generated again.
-
At the beginning of each business day (UTC), our system calculates the previous business day's transactions (sales, refunds, and fees). If the net total is positive, we will initiate an ACH payment/disbursement. From there, it can take anywhere between 2 - 4 business days for the deposit to reflect on your bank account balance.

Weekends and bank holidays are not considered business days, meaning charges that are captured on a Friday, Saturday, or Sunday will not be processed by our system until Monday morning. If Monday is a bank holiday, then weekend charges will not process until Tuesday morning.
