You can grow your business to include customers from both US and Canada by creating an account in the location you intend to expand your offerings to. At this time, Affirm's US-based customers are supported through Affirm US, while Canadian customers are supported through Affirm CA.
Requirements
First, you’ll have to apply for a new Affirm account where you intend to expand into. Follow these steps when applying for a new account:
- If you’re a US-based merchant expanding your business to Canada, apply for an Affirm CA account.
- If you’re a Canada-based merchant expanding your business to the US, apply for an Affirm US account.
- Check your eligibility and our Prohibited Business Policy here.
- Once approved, you will receive a separate set of API keys for either your US/CA website.
Note: You’ll need to re-integrate with Affirm for your new location, even if you already set that part of it up in your original Affirm account.
Expanding to the US
- Create your merchant account here.
- Once you enter the Affirm Merchant Portal and submit some business information, our team will reach out with additional details within 2-5 business days, including specific program offerings and pricing.

- The application process for a CA account is almost the same as the US process, however, a few details may change during the process eg:

- A Canadian bank account is required. All transactions need to take place in CAD.
