Most merchants partnered with Affirm use an eCommerce website with Affirm integration as the dominant format for sales.
Below, you'll see the shopper experience with Affirm, after they choose the item they want to purchase.
Note: This flow cannot be altered.
Shopper checkout flow: step-by-step
Once the customer arrives at checkout at your online storefront, they choose Affirm as their payment option.

Then, the customer will be redirected to Affirm.
If this is the customer's first time using Affirm, we'll prompt them for some basic information to create their account. If they've used Affirm before, they can choose ‘Already have an account’ to immediately move on to the next step of the application.

If your customer has already used Affirm, they'll instead provide their phone number. This is viewable on phones, tablets, and desktop devices.
The customer will then receive a verification code via SMS to verify their mobile number. Once they enter this code, the underwriting process (~15 seconds) begins.
The customer will then be presented with their loan decision.
If approved, they can choose the payment plan that works best for them. The customer will be shown a brief summary of each plan, including: the amount per monthly payment, the term length, the maximum interest they would pay on the plan, and the total of those payments.
If the customer is declined, they'll see a brief declination message, in addition to receiving a more detailed explanation via email about the decision.
Note: The terms presented above are for example purposes only. You may have different terms configured for your account per your merchant agreement.
Finally, the customer will review and agree to the Truth in Lending Disclosure, which contains the number of payments, the amount of each payment, and the date the first payment is due.
After they confirm the payment plan, they'll be redirected to your normal order confirmation page. That's it!
